I have written a series of articles about the disappearance of the electric organ. Having seen and played the last harvest of organs from Roland, as the new Roland Atelier AT 900, AT 900 C and 800 I think this could be the beginning of a comeback.
It is only the beginning
I have to say this is only the beginning of a comeback, and in my opinion, there is much that makes body to do, especially Roland. I think Yamaha are on the correct with agencies like the deck D Yamaha portable organ and even the Yamaha Stagea Electone organ which is a bulkier body, but still portable. Probably the best example of a portable organ has to be the Nord C1 Combo organ, which can be best described as carrying a Hammond C3 organ under her arm, yes, is that light.
What can Roland bodies do to improve?
Well first let me say I am a big fan Roland organ. The sound and playability of these bodies are bright and easy, but they are too big and heavy. The body of Roland 900 C is an attempt to Roland to provide a portable organ organist for travel. What a joke. The body weighs 224 pounds. Compare this to the Nord C1 Combo organ that weighs 33 pounds and cover D Yamaha weighs 39 pounds, and you can see that the Roland 900 C is a very heavy portable organ. If Roland wants to stay in this new emerging back to do something on the cost of not organs. The Roland AT900 C retails in the UK at £ 13,000.00. Compare this to the Nord C1 organ, which cost £ 1500.00 and the deck D Yamaha, while in fact not available in the UK, you can import For about a £ 3500.00.
If you really want a Roland, buy second hand
Okay, you're not going to get the latest model of second hand and if you do, be very lucky, but previous models can be purchased at extremely cheap prices compared to the cost of buying new.
Roland are obviously the target organs in the generation older who have a bit of money aside, and for many years as this was a good market for manufacturers of bodies, but that market is declining, Yamaha is not so that organs are sold in Western markets. In my opinion, Roland has a great opportunity to create a market for all ages and play a important role in helping the body return mail.
