How do I replace my switch in the chain to pull my ceiling fan?
I bought the switch, I removed the three screws, IM will to a cable at a time and place in New change, how can I do that? Do I switch cable cut every age and final push and push on the switch again and pull to ensure proper installation? and for the next three cables to follow this instruction, im lost as what to do. help me.
The first step is to clear the ceiling fan power by turning off the circuit supplying power so that work is safe. Make sure you double check that no power is feeding into the line using a voltage tester. Once outside, then you must determine the type of change that needs to be replaced. If you are replacing a light switch, you need the kind that has two positions (on and off). If it is for the fan then you will need a switch of three position (high, making, off). When it comes to the hardware store is usually best to take the old switch with you to ensure that the new fit in the same hole / slot. These switches are fairly standardized today, so you should not have too much trouble to find a match. Again, be sure to disconnect power before attempting to remove this parameter. Before removing the old switch, note that the cables are connected from the fan switch. You want to repeat the same set with the new switch. With pliers, loosen and remove the screw and nut with grooves that have the switch on the fan housing of the fixture. (Obviously, depending on the make and model of your fan, this may vary slightly.) Disconnect the wires from old switch. If you can not disconnect, cut, leaving a couple of inches of the wires from the fans of reconnection with the switch again. The replacement of the old switch should be pretty straightforward from here just match the color of the wires on the fan, with the cables in the new switch and connect with plastic wire nuts (usually these are included change in the package). If the colors do not directly match then see the instructions in the new packet switch that should explain what colors belong where. To minimize wear and tear on the future of pull-string, it is usually better to run the fan with a wall switch or whatever ultimate in comfort, looking for a remote control. Whether wall or a handheld wireless device must control the lights and fan speed. Some of these even have a night time mode for use in rooms where the speed is reduced automatically over time! Or, are the remote controls including a security configuration that trips the light or fan using random patterns that simulate an occupied house. How's that for innovation!
